Rodolfo to Mimi (Act I, LA Bohème)

Set amidst the backdrop of a future America where ai and technology have taken over, truth in advertising and health advice are completly non-existent, novel diseases run rampant, and a country in disarray trying to recover from authoritarian rule for the previous decade. Where convenience was exciting and novel in 2026, in 2038, the world craves real, honest, true, above all human relations.

Marcello the graphic designer and Rodolfo the poet, explore the varying degrees of love and infatuation; Marcello with the temptress, Musetta, and Rodolfo with their neighbor, the lovely and modest Mimi. Rodolfo and Marcello always have an open door for their friends including Schaunard the electronic musician and Colline the engineer. They all go through the extremes of the human existence with experiences of both love and loss in the context of a robotic world. With lush harmonies, thrilling vocal virtuosity, and heart-wrenching passion, this timeless story of love among young bohemians is one of the best-loved, and most widely produced operas of all time. There will be electronic music, flashes, and live projections of artists, objects, and potentially audience in this production. Flash photography is prohibited, but photography of any other kind is encouraged
